Saraki Mourns Justice Ambali, Condoles Emir of Ilorin, Family

Former Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has expressed sorrow over the passing of retired Grand Khadi of the Kwara State Sharia Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice AbdulMuttalib Ahmad Ambali.

The Grand Khadi from 1999 to 2008, Justice Ambali, passed away in the early hours of March 30, 2023.

Saraki expressed his condolences in a letter written by his press representative for domestic affairs, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, in which he referred to the late legal luminary and elder statesman’s passing as a huge loss to his family, the Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, and Nigeria.

He expressed his condolences to the deceased’s family, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Emir of Ilorin, and the residents of the Ilorin Emirate.

“The passing of Hon. Justice AbdulMuttalib A. Ambali is a huge loss — not only to his family and Ilorin Emirate, but to the people of Kwara, and Nigeria in general. He was a great father, a man of exemplary character, a community leader, an erudite scholar, a distinguished legal practitioner, and a respected elder statesman who will always be remembered for his selfless service to our dear State and country.

“Baba was a devout Muslim and will be long remembered for his contributions and commitment to the propagation of Islam in our society.

“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the entire Ambali family, and the people of Ilorin. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this period of grief.

“May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him a special place in Aljannah Firdaus,” Saraki prayed.” Saraki said
