The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Kwara State, Alh. Abdullahi Shuaibu Yaman, has promised to reinstate and retrain the sun set teachers sacked by Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, if elected into office.
Alh Yaman who stated this in Ilorin on Saturday during an interactive session we had on the state of our state, said the state’s civil servants occupy a preeminent position in his agenda for the state.
According to the PDP’s gubernatorial candidate, the last three years of the current administration has witnessed a negative diversion from our path to glory and greatness, especially on education, healthcare, agriculture and basic infrastructure.
Alleging that the sacking of the now famous sun set teachers was vindictive and politically motivated, Yaman promised to pay the #30,000 minimum wage signed by his party, the PDP, in 2019 with the labour unions in the state.
As part of his comprehensive plans for the civil servants, Alh Yaman promised timely promotion of workers, addressing the disparity between TESCOM and SUBEB salaries as well as between state’s civil service’s Ministry, Departments and Agencies/TESCOM and NULGE.
“We shall prioritize payment of gratuity, pension and other entitlements of the retirees to show appreciation for their immeasurable services to the state”, Alh Yaman pledged.
According to him “I shall harness every human resource, at home and abroad, to take our state to the promised land”.
He concluded our conversation with his mantra: “I can’t do it alone, but together, we shall make a difference.
I’m more than convinced that with Yaman as the governor of the state come 2023, a prosperous Kwara is possible.
