Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has described the death of prominent Muslim scholar and Imam of Maraba (in Ilorin) Sheikh Shuaib Abdussalaam as painful, praying Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him al-Jannah (paradise).
“I join the Muslim community to mourn one of our leading scholars in Ilorin Emirate. Imam Maraba was known for his longstanding commitments to Islamic evangelism and his unique mastery and delivery of Sufi poetry. His death, like many of his kind, left a big hole in the Muslim community,” the Governor said in a statement on Wednesday.
“I beseech Allah to ease his account, grant him and all of our (departed) pious forebears al-jannah, and comfort the family and the community he left behind.”
