Stop Inciting Violence in the State, Group Chides Kwara Gov

Congratulates Saraki’s Twins on Their Birthday

The Kwara Advancement Initiative (KAI) has advised Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasak to refrain from creating crisis in the state with his spurious spins in which he was claiming that there was a purported plan sponsored by Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki and some politicians to attack him at the praying ground.

The group noted that Abdulrahman is only hiding behind one finger by coming out with such frivolous claim that there was a plan to attack him and linking such a devious claim to a decent man like Saraki.

“A man of the caliber of a governor should not be playing dirty politics. If he is getting involved in raising false alarm, then how do we separate information that come to him from pure intelligence from his usual political machinations.

“At this time of security problems across the country, if a governor is lying about possible breach of peace, he is only creating a possible atmosphere that can be exploited by mischievous elements all over the place. A governor should not be a purveyor of falsehood. By his conduct, Abdulrahman is lowering the bar.

“Saraki that we all know is not a violent man. He does not subscribe to mischief and can never be a sponsor of any violence. That is why following the Governor’s claim to the police, the security agency invited the chairmen of the
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to which Saraki belongs and that of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a talk on the issue. We gathered that only the PDP chairman attended the meeting. Even when telephone calls were made to the APC chairman, he refused to pick the call. The implication is that even the Governor’s party chairman did not take him serious and did not believe his claim.

“We also heard that the PDP chairman, Hon. Kola Shittu told the police that if there was any planned breach of peace, it could only be a result of the bitter conflict among factions in the ruling party and the unpopular policies of the Abdulrahman administration.

“KAI further urge the Governor to stop creating tension in the state as a way of diverting attention from the unpopular and divisive policies of his administration”, the group stated.

It however congratulated the Saraki twins, Ola and Ayo, on their 21st birthday on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 and prayed that Almighty God will continue to make them a source of pride to their parents, Kwara State and Nigeria.

It will be recalled that after spending eight of the last ten days of Ramadan in Ilorin where he received thousands of people from across the 16 local government areas of the state and hosted them for iftar (breaking of fast), Saraki left the Kwara State capital and informed his close associates that he needed to attend a scheduled family engagement outside town on Wednesday.
