Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has named his set of twins after President Muhammadu Buhari and former governor Senator Umar Tanko Al-Makura.
The first was named Mohammed Shamsudeen, reflecting President Muhammadu Buhari and the second one was named Umar Faruq, reflecting the ex-governor and lawmaker representing Nasarawa South Senatorial District, Senator Umar Tanko Al-Makura.
Sule took a second wife in 2019, a few weeks to his inauguration as the fourth democratically-elected governor of the state. Last week, she was delivered of two male twins.
The naming ceremony took place on Tuesday at the palace of the governor’s father in Gudi, Akwanga Local Government.
Governor Sule said he named them after President Buhari and Senator Al-Makura because of the recognition and respect he had for the two leaders.
