As Kwarans and the general public await Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s announcement for replacement of his late Chief of Staff, Alhaji Adisa Logun, who died early last month, a member of the Governor’s cabinet, Hon. Yinka Aluko has come out to say he is the most favoured for the job.
Aluko who is the current Special Adviser to Abdulrazaq on Special Duties from the same ward, zone and compound with the state’s current Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Saadatu Moddibo Kawu, reportedly boasted during a meeting with some of his loyalists in Ilorin that the Governor had promised to appoint him as his next Chief of Staff, a position he had always courted. In fact the main reason why he left after the administration of Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki. He claimed if not appointed the CoS to Maigida he would rather leave the Saraki’s fold. Which he did when he lost out in becoming the CoS
A source who was at the meeting told this medium that Aluko narrated how Governor Abdulrazaq came to his house to appeal to him for not consulting him before he made his recent appointments of security aides. The source also made it known to this medium that Aluko was jittery because security matters were among his hitherto purviews as Special Advisers on Special Duties.
The source said as a former Security Adviser during the administration of former governor Bukola Saraki, Aluko felt embarassed that Governor Abdulrazaq did not solicit his advice before appointing the security aides.
He further noted that Aluko was very confident that he will be appointed by the next Chief of Staff as he has been assured by Governor Abdulrazaq.
