COVID-19: Fortify Kwara Borders, Emirate Youths Charge Gov Abdulrahman

The Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) has called on the Kwara State Government to fortify security at borders with the neighboring states, most especially at the early hours in the morning and late at night, as people are moving in and out of the State during these aforementioned times, despite the lockdown order to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus in the state.

In a statement jointly singed by the National President of the association, Alhaji Abdullahi Babatunde Salaudeen and the National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Mohammed Uthman Jagunma stated that the rate of influx of people into the state during the night is very alarming, and need to be checked if the battle against the spread of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) in the state is to be won.

IEYDA eulogised the Kwara State Government, under the able leadership of Governor Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman for all the mechanisms put in place to prevent further spread of the virus in the state, and for its thoughtfulness in providing relief materials to the less-privileged ones across the state.

The association promised its continuous support for the state government in the fight against the pandemic, amongst others.

It also appreciated the health workers who are the front liners working round the clock to give the adequate treatment to those at the state COVID-19 isolation centre and to ensuring the virus is contained in the state. The association prayed that God Almighty continue to protect them and reward them abundantly.
