The Non Custodial Service took off officially in the State of Harmony here in Kwara, as the Ilorin Magistrate court, at it’s sitting today Wednesday 15th of April 2020, precided over by Chief Magistrate J.B Saliu, sentenced three accused persons namely, Baraje Abel, Babangida Dontatin, and Amos Philip were charged one month community service each to sweep the court premises from 9am to 1pm commencing from Thursday 16th of April 2020. They consequently handed them over to Correctional Officers to supervise the sentence.
The Officer in charge of the non-custodial service in the State Deputy Controller of Corrections, Bamidele Bosede used the medium to appreciate the Controller General of Corrections, Alhaji Jaafaru Ahmed for his support, efforts and contributions, for the bold step he took in decongesting our custodial centers in the State and for making life more meaningfull to both inmate and staff in the state through the non custodial measures.
In conclusion, she also applauded the state controller of Corrections, Mr. Adebisi Adewale Francis for given her an enabling environment for effective take off of the program in the state.
In conclusion, she advice citizens of the state to comply with the state government order by sitting at home to have a free and save environment free of Covid 19.
