It is no longer news that a by-election will hold tomorrow in Patigi to fill the vacant seat in the Kwara State House of Assembly. The Patigi constituency seat became vacant following the death of Hon. Saidu Rufai (APC) in December, 2019.
As the people of Patigi go to the poll tomorrow, it is pertinent for them to know and consider the choice they will be making. The late former lawmaker, whose brother is the candidate of the APC in the election, is reported to have incurred a debt of about N42milliion before his death. And the debt remains unpaid till now.
This is why Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Commissioner Aisha Ahman Pategi imposed the brother of the late lawmker to contest the election, Which is against the wish of APC members in Patigi. The reason is for him to be able to clear his brother’s debt.
It is important for the people of Patigi to note that, they have only two options; to either vote Ahmad Adam Rufai and continue to service the debt that was incurred in the name of the constituency without nothing to show for it or Vote Muhammed Saliu of the PDP without debt or agreement with anyone at the expense of his people.
