A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, has charged the new ministers to be more proactive and dedicated in the discharge of their duties.
Mustapha gave the charge in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Ilorin.
He congratulated the two ministers from Kwara, Alh. Lai Mohammed and Sen. Gbemisola Saraki, on their portfolios as Minister of Information and Culture, and Minister of State for Transportation respectively.
The APC chieftain urged them to see their appointments as a call to serve the country.
According to him, the calibre of individuals inaugurated as ministers on Wednesday are capable of driving robust initiative that will actualise the ‘next level’ agenda of the present administration.
Mustapha, however, noted the enormous challenges ahead which, he said, demanded renewed commitment on the part of the ministers to achieve the set goals, in the interest of the country.
He cautioned them against allowing unnecessary bureaucracy and other anti-progressive tendencies to hinder the effective and efficient discharge of their responsibilities.
