Kwara senator unveils blueprint for devt.

The senator representing Kwara North Senatorial District, Sadiq Umar, has unveiled a blueprint to drive development in the area.

Umar, while unveiling the blueprint on Tuesday in Kaiama, Kaiama Local Government Area of the state, said he would prioritise infrastructural development, security consciousnes as well as empowerment and employment of youths.

The senator, who commended the constituents for voting for him in the last election, identified development as an indispensable ingredient in governance.

Umar explained that his humble background had given him the opportunity to analyse the challenges facing the people of the district.

He pledged to evolve a strategy to make life better for the people in collaboration with the state government.

Umar also promised to appoint people to work with his legislative aides to fast track grassroots development.

According to him, the increasing burden on women will be addressed with special trade, crafts and entrepreneurship schemes as well as grants.

“I wish to leave no one in doubt about where I am coming from and my passionate determination to initiate a clean break for our people, particularly youths and women.

“Today, I am unveiling my blueprint that is comprehensive and with all the relevant data to back up the policies and programme I vow to execute now that I am your senator,” he said.

In their separate remarks, the Emirs of Ilesha Baruba, Prof. Halidu Abubakar; Gwanara, Alhaji Sabi Idris; Okuta, Alhaji Idris Sero Abubakar and Yashikira, Alhaji Usman Seriki, commended the senator for the plan aimed at addressing the backwardness of the district.

They expressed dismay over the attitude of the previous governments in the state to the development needs of the area.
